At R.R. Mehta College of Science and C.L.
Parikh College of Commerce, Palanpur—managed by the Banaskantha District
Kelavani Mandal— “Celebration of Rakshabandhan Parv” was organized on 8th August, 2025,
under the joint initiative of the Department of Botany and Cultural Committee.
The celebration was focused on Social Harmony and historical as well as
cultural significance of the “Rakshabandhan Parv”.
The program began with the collective chanting
of Vedic hymns. The event received the virtual blessings of the institution’s
Principal, Dr. Y. B. Dabgar. Dr Mihir Dave, Vice Principal G. D. Modi College
of Arts graced the event as the keynote speaker, and was felicitated by student
Volunteer. Prof. R. D. Varsat, Prof. Dr J. N. Patel, Dr. Sushila Gatiyala, Dr
M. K. Patel, Dr. Ami Patel, Dr Haresh Gondaliya were present in the celebration
and blessed the students.
During his address, Dr Dave provided information
on the cultural, social and historical illustrations of “Rakshabandhan Parv”. He
also explained the importance of different types of celebrations of our
Culture. More than 120 students actively participated in the celebration. The
successful organization of the event was overseen by Assistant Professors from
the Botany Department, Dr. Hareshbhai Gondaliya and Dr. Dhruvbhai Pandya.
Student volunteers also contributed significantly to the smooth execution of
the program.
The celebation concluded with the collective
singing of the National anthem.
