Institutional Profile

The college continued its commitment to quality higher education during the academic year 2024-25. It functions from its own campus and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Science and Commerce streams. The institution strictly follows the academic calendar prepared and uploaded on the college website for smooth implementation of all academic and co-curricular activities.

Quality Enhancement Initiatives

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell coordinated various activities throughout the year. Meetings were held to review and plan institutional progress. Key contributions included:

  • Preparation and implementation of the Academic Calendar 2024-25
  • Organisation of sky-gazing programmes by the Physics Department
  • Successful conduct of Knowledge Week in M.Sc. Chemistry and Botany departments
  • Regular review meetings to monitor institutional activities
  • Timely preparation and submission of the yearly status report

  • Prize Distribution Function for meritorious students

Implementation of National Education Policy 2020

The college has fully aligned its academic framework with the NEP 2020. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches were strengthened at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

  • Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) IDs were generated for all students.
  • Indian Knowledge System courses, including Indian Agriculture, were introduced at undergraduate level.
  • Education is imparted in both Gujarati and English medium to ensure inclusivity.

Skill Development and Holistic Growth

Under the Finishing School initiative supported by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG), the college organised programmes focusing on soft skills, life skills, ethical values and vocational competencies. A dedicated Certificate Course in English Communicative Skills and Personality Development was also conducted.

Distance Education through BAOU Centre

The Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) Centre (Code 1002) at the college continued to serve the community effectively. It offered 38 different courses to approximately 3,500 learners, with special focus on socially and economically underprivileged students of Banaskantha district.

  • Teachers’ Day (5 September 2024)
  • National Pollution Prevention Day by Microbiology Department (2 December 2024)
  • National Mathematics Day (22 December 2024) with online lecture and quiz
These activities helped in holistic personality development of students.
