At R.R. Mehta College of Science and C.L.
Parikh College of Commerce, Palanpur—managed by the Banaskantha District
Kelavani Mandal—a workshop was organized on 30th July, 2025, under
the joint initiative of the Department of Botany and the Department of Library
Science. The workshop focused on training students on the use of the e-library
and traditional library resources.
The program began with the collective chanting
of Vedic hymns. The event received the virtual blessings of the institution’s
Principal, Dr. Y. B. Dabgar, and Dr. Mukeshbhai Patel, Head of the Botany
Department. Dr. Sameerbhai Chaudhary, Head of the Library Science Department,
graced the event as the keynote speaker, and was felicitated by Dr. Hareshbhai
Gondaliya.
During his address, Dr. Sameerbhai Chaudhary
provided students with detailed information about the college library and
offered a practical demonstration of how to use the e-library system. He also
explained the importance of barcoding and conducted a guided tour of the
library, which houses approximately 72,000 books, categorized by subject.
More than 60 students actively participated in
the workshop. The successful organization of the event was overseen by
Assistant Professors from the Botany Department, Dr. Hareshbhai Gondaliya and
Dr. Dhruvbhai Pandya. Student volunteers also contributed significantly to the
smooth execution of the program.
The workshop concluded with the collective
singing of the national anthem.
